Dr John Gibbons Medical Principal

Dr Gibbons Is a graduate of NUI Galway and completed his GP training in Wales. He is a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners. His experience in General Practice has included assignments in Ireland, the UK, the Middle East and Africa where he has gained experience both in multicultural and corporate environments.
​
Dr Gibbons' special interests include Dermatology in which he holds a post graduate diploma from Cardiff University and Travel Medicine. He has been granted Membership of the Faculty Travel Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Glasgow and he is a member and former president of the Travel Medicine Society of Ireland

Appointments
The Practice an appointment system. Your time is valuable and we respect this. Life is unpredictable and we will see true Medical Emergencies without appointment. This may have an impact on your appointment time.

Reception staff can assist you in scheduling an appropriate appointment. It is important to alert staff should you have a special requirement that may necessitate a longer appointment slot.
Appointment slots are designed for individual patients so if you need more than one person seen, please tell reception staff in advance.

Prescriptions
Prescriptions are available for both Medical Card Holders and Private patients.
​
Please give 48 hours notice for the preparation of Routine prescriptions
If you need to get your routine prescription renewed, please send us a completed prescription request form. These forms are available from Reception staff or you can download and print off a form here.
Please note that because of Data Protection restrictions and for your safety, telephone requests for medications will not be accepted. Your safety and confidentiality are of paramount importance.

If you receive a new medication or your prescription is changed following a visit to hospital or medical specialist, it is important that you let us know of this change and provide us with a copy of your new prescription as soon as possible so that your records can be updated.
